How One Mammogram Sparked Melissa Warren’s Mission

When Melissa Warren — who works at her family’s popular coffeehouse Urban Bean in Orange Park, Florida — went in for her routine mammogram at age 44, she never expected to hear the words “you have triple-negative breast cancer.”

Melissa had no symptoms, signs, or family history, but the tumor — found while at the doctor’s office — was growing rapidly.  Doctors quickly chased it with months of intense chemo and radiation and through it all, Melissa leaned on her faith…positive thinking…and showed up to work when she could, always with her signature smile that makes people want to stop and discover her joy.

You’ll also hear about:

  • The routine mammogram Melissa’s husband insisted she get
  • The role singing played in her healing
  • Her “cancer-free” party where her family raised $1,000 for triple-negative breast cancer research.

Melissa’s story is a call to action for every woman to get her annual mammogram screenings.
