The Jacksonville Ladies: Making Sure No Veteran is Buried Alone

In this Memorial Day episode of Discover the Joy: The Purdy Podcast, meet the JACKSONVILLE LADIES — a group of dedicated volunteers who ensures no veteran is buried alone at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.

After my short news story about them aired on TV (News4Jax), it won a Regional Emmy Award! 100+ women reached out to join the cause and two dozen new volunteers now stand in silent tribute to our nation’s heroes.

In this episode, I catch up with the Ladies ONE YEAR LATER on my podcast. The group’s quiet mission continues to grow as some of its newest members share why they answered the call to serve and how their presence brings comfort and dignity to final goodbyes.
